GAMEPLAY
There are five levels each with four stages. During the first four stages
of each level you must eliminate all enemies, tanks, helicopters, planes
and cars. At the end of the fourth stage of each level you will meet
a very tough adversary.
You have a constant supply of fire power. Certain objects, when destroyed,
will give you bonus items such as extra grenades, bazookas or machine
guns.

Hints
and Tips
Save Grenades for crowds and buildings. Collect extra weapons for
better fire power. Blow up all buildings. Blow up trucks before
more enemies are introduced. Hide behind barrels and walls etc.
Home Versions
The following computer formats had versions of Cabal converted by
Ocean Software. These were as follows; Spectrum 48/128/+2/+3, Commodore
64/128, Amstrad, Atari ST, Amiga.
One major problem with the home versions was with the grenade button.
A button on the keyboard was assigned for grenade, but in their
infinite wisdom, someone also decided that down and fire would also
do the same job meaning that everytime you moved the cursor down
with the fire button depressed, you'd end up wasting all your grenades.

Why
This is in my Collection
I had previously played Cabal on both the Sinclair Spectrum and
also on the Amiga (which was nothing short of excellent). I had
seen the arcade of Cabal at various locations but was quite disappointed
with it as I am sure the Amiga version had better graphics. Until
a few weeks back I had no intention of tracking down the PCB, but
when it came up for auction on Ebay at £20, I decided that
if it stayed at that price I'd get it. 1 minute before the auction
ended, I put in a bid at £20 and lo and behold I was the first
and only bidder. |
