Donkey Kong Scoreboard

The Retro Ranch - Website Links

The below list is by no means a definitive catalogue of all arcade related websites out on the broad expanse of the internet. Instead, these are sites I have found either enjoyable to visit and of help in my arcade game collecting.

I am happy to link to any arcade or retro gaming related website, so if there's one missing you think people should know about, please let me know!

Links to Arcade and Videogame Collectors

http://www.eprom.dircon.co.uk/arcade/arcade.htm

Welcome to Zeprom's Planet Gorf page. As you can probably guess, Gorf was his all time favourite arcade game, and when the opportunity arose in September 1988 to purchase the machine it was quickly snapped up.

Follow Zeprom from the day he roped a mate into helping him get the machine home in the back of his car, the intial cleaning stages, the first power-up, right up to pretty much the fully restored machine.

Elsewhere on the site, you'll find Zeprom's extensive board collection featuring classic after classic, where you may be able to make him an offer on one of those games that stole your childhood.

http://www.guddler.co.uk

Instead of me trying to explain what's here, I'll pass you over to the man himself, Guddler...

"There isn't a huge amount here at the moment, but most of the games listed in my collection are for sale aside from the obvious exceptions (SI ptII, Joust, etc.) and I have about 50 or 60 faulty games here at the moment, that as and when I get to them I shall do my best to fix them and then put up repair logs".

Guddlers site also boasts an excellent `Search Spies` facility, enabling you to track down those missing dip-switches and schematics that much quicker. Give it a go!

Arcade and Videogame Reference Sites

Arcade Game Manuals
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Keep/1392/manuals.html

Do you have a board or arcade machine in your collection but are without the manual or dipswitch settings documentation? Well, you may be in luck. This site has an absolutely huge library of online documentation sorted in alphabetical order just ready for you to download. Change that difficulty level, switch on that attract sound and much, much more!

The Killer List of Video Games
http://www.klov.com

If you're trying to track down information on a board in your collection, be it monitor types/rotation, hardware details, marquee/cabinet screen-shots, dip-switch settings and more, this is most definitely worth a visit. I've found the site really useful when bidding for boards on Ebay and needed to obtain some more information about the game before putting a bid down.

The Atari 2600/7800 FAQ
http://www.cs.colostate.edu/~dzubera/2600faq.html

Although the main subject matter here is 2600/7800 related, there's also a huge chunk of material available that will be of real interest to most retro gamers who wish to discover more about this legendary company. Unlike many FAQ, this is updated on a regular basis, and the author is always on the lookout for any additions you may care to send his way. There's a load of material online here, so make sure you put some time aside to visit.
